JANOSEBA and DISA obtain the financial support from The May 18 Memorial Foundation (5.18 Memorial Cultural Hall, Seo-Gu Sangmudong 1268, Gwangju 502-260, Republic of Korea) to launch a project on ‘Campaign Against Sea Piracy’.

Sea pirates seriously destroy the lives and livelihoods of fishermen especially ethnic Hindu Jaladas (low caste). Jaladas are fishing from the sea from generation to generation. They think that they born for fishing. They have also no sufficient and suitable opportunity to go in alternative jobs. Psychologically they are also different from others.

The financial support of The May 18 Memorial Foundation will be helpful to focus the lives and livelihoods picture for Jaladas. Under this project two audio and one video documentary will also show the human rights violation to such ethnic minorities. It is a great opportunity for JANOSEBA and DISA to broadcast this issue in worldwide.
